Know Your Traffic Signs contains an explanation of almost every road sign in use in the UK today and greatly expands on the traffic signs section of the Highway Code. As the book says, "Knowing your traffic signs can be a matter of life and death - yours or somebody else's".
As Your Test Approaches
The Official DSA Theory Test Guide for Car Drivers or The Official Driving Test may prove useful. If you intend to augment your driving lessons by having a qualified driver sit with you while you practice, they should read Helping Learner Drivers to Practice. It is worth reading this book so that you know how to help a learner to learn while not contradicting what is taught during proper driving lessons.
